Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 20261. Digital Products
All knitting patterns sold by Marjoram Knits are digital products unless explicitly stated otherwise.
You are purchasing a downloadable digital pattern file, typically supplied in PDF format.
No physical pattern, printed booklet, yarn, finished garment or other physical product will be posted to you.
Product photographs are examples of items that can be made using the pattern and are not physical products included with your purchase.
You will need a compatible device and software capable of opening PDF files in order to use the pattern.
2. Pattern Downloads
Customers should download and securely save their purchased pattern within 24 hours of purchase.
It is the customer's responsibility to keep a copy of their purchased file once it has been downloaded. Marjoram Knits cannot guarantee that download links will remain available indefinitely.
If you have successfully completed a purchase but have not received access to your pattern within 24 hours, please contact us using the contact information on our website.
3. Email Address & Customer Information
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all information entered during checkout is accurate, particularly their email address.
Digital patterns and/or download information will be sent to or associated with the email address supplied by the customer at checkout.
Marjoram Knits is not responsible for delays or failure to receive a pattern where this is caused by the customer entering an incorrect, inaccessible or misspelled email address.
Customers should carefully review their details before completing their purchase.
Where possible, we may assist customers who have made an error with their email address, but we may require proof of purchase before providing any assistance.
4. Refunds, Exchanges & Cancellations
Due to the nature of digital products, all sales are considered final once the digital content has been supplied or the download has begun, except where a refund or other remedy is required by law.
We do not offer refunds, exchanges or replacement products simply because:
you change your mind;
you purchase the wrong pattern;
you accidentally purchase a pattern;
you purchase a pattern that you have previously purchased;
you purchase the same pattern more than once;
you no longer wish to make the item;
you expected to receive a physical product despite the product being clearly described as digital; or
the pattern is unsuitable for your personal skill level.
Please check the pattern title, description and your order carefully before completing payment.
Marjoram Knits is not responsible for exchanging or substituting an incorrectly ordered or duplicate pattern for a different pattern.
This policy does not affect any statutory rights you may have where digital content is faulty, materially not as described or where another remedy is required under applicable consumer law.
5. Digital Content & Cancellation Rights
Digital patterns are made available for download shortly after purchase.
Where applicable, by requesting immediate access to your digital pattern, you expressly consent to Marjoram Knits supplying the digital content before the end of the normal 14-day cancellation period.
You also acknowledge that once supply of the digital content begins, you may lose your statutory right to cancel the purchase during that 14-day period.
Your statutory rights regarding faulty or incorrectly supplied digital content are not affected.
6. Copyright & Personal Use
All Marjoram Knits patterns, including their written instructions, charts, photographs, illustrations, layouts and other original content, are protected by copyright.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable and non-exclusive licence to use the purchased pattern.
Patterns are supplied for personal use only.
You may download and print copies of your purchased pattern for your own personal use and retain a reasonable backup copy.
You must not, without prior written permission from Marjoram Knits:
copy or reproduce a pattern for another person;
share the digital file with friends, family members or other individuals;
upload the pattern or any substantial part of it to social media, websites, forums, file-sharing services, cloud folders or online groups;
distribute copies for free;
resell the pattern;
include the pattern in digital or physical pattern collections;
translate, reproduce or redistribute the pattern as your own;
use the pattern as teaching or course material;
remove copyright notices or Marjoram Knits branding for the purpose of redistribution; or
otherwise commercially exploit or redistribute the pattern.
Purchasing one copy of a pattern does not give permission to distribute copies to other people. Each individual wishing to use the pattern should purchase their own copy.
Unauthorised reproduction, resale or distribution may constitute copyright infringement and Marjoram Knits reserves the right to take appropriate action where its copyrighted work is unlawfully copied or distributed.
7. Pattern Editing & Accuracy
Marjoram Knits patterns are currently written and edited solely by Marjoram Knits and are not independently tech edited unless a particular product listing explicitly states otherwise.
We take care when preparing and reviewing our patterns, but knitting patterns are detailed documents and occasional typographical errors, calculation errors or other mistakes may occur.
If you believe you have found an error in a pattern, please contact Marjoram Knits with details of the issue.
Where a material error is identified, Marjoram Knits may correct the pattern and provide an updated version where appropriate.
The fact that a pattern has not been independently tech edited is disclosed to customers before purchase and should be taken into consideration when purchasing.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory consumer rights.
8. Finished Results
The appearance, size, fit and finish of an item made using a Marjoram Knits pattern can vary depending on factors including yarn choice, yarn substitution, gauge, tension, needle size, modifications and the individual knitter.
Customers are responsible for checking their gauge, measurements, yarn requirements and sizing before and during their project.
Marjoram Knits cannot guarantee that a finished item will be identical to the sample photographs where different materials, gauge, modifications or techniques have been used.
9. Pattern Information & Skill Level
Customers are responsible for reviewing the information provided on the relevant product page before purchasing, including any information concerning sizing, techniques, materials, gauge and recommended skill level.
A customer's personal difficulty following a pattern does not by itself mean that the digital product is faulty.
10. Prices & Payment
Prices will be displayed on the website before an order is placed.
The total amount payable will be shown during checkout before payment is confirmed.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Their own terms and privacy policies may also apply when processing your payment.
An order is considered complete once payment has been successfully processed and the order has been accepted.
11. Intellectual Property
Purchasing a Marjoram Knits pattern gives you permission to use the pattern in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
Ownership of the copyright and intellectual property does not transfer to you when you purchase a pattern.
All applicable intellectual property rights remain with Marjoram Knits and/or the relevant rights holder.
12. Misuse & Unauthorised Distribution
If Marjoram Knits reasonably believes that a purchased pattern is being illegally copied, resold, shared or distributed, we reserve the right to take reasonable steps to protect our intellectual property.
This may include requesting the removal of infringing material, submitting copyright infringement notices to websites or platforms, or pursuing other remedies available under applicable law.
13. Changes to Patterns
Patterns may occasionally be updated to correct errors, improve clarity or make minor changes.
The version available for download at any particular time may therefore differ slightly from an earlier version of the same pattern.
Where appropriate and technically possible, existing purchasers may be given access to corrected versions.
14. Changes to These Terms
Marjoram Knits may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Any changes will apply to purchases made after the updated terms are published. The terms applying to an existing purchase will generally be those in force at the time that purchase was made, except where changes are required by law.
15. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or replace any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.
If any provision within these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
16. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of United Kingdom
Nothing in these terms prevents a consumer from relying on any mandatory legal protections available to them.
